Induction Weekends are held two times a year at Martin Scout Ranch.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Spring Induction is always the third weekend in May<\/b>, and Fall Induction is the third weekend in October<\/b>. We keep these dates consistent from year to year so Troops know when to expect these important events.<\/p>\n

Congratulations on your election into our Order! To become an official member of the OA, you will need to complete your Ordeal. The purpose of the Ordeal is for you to rededicate yourself to the ideals of Scouting (Oath, Law, Motto, Slogan).<\/p>\n

WHAT TO BRING:<\/h6>\n

Do Not Bring Food <\/b>(unless it is for a medical or religious necessity – please contact the staff before arriving)
Do Not Bring Electronic devices <\/b>– There is little to no cell phone coverage at MSR.<\/p>\n

For Friday Night\/Saturday<\/p>\n

  • Class B\/work-appropriate clothes<\/li>\n
  • Bed Roll (ground cloth\/sleeping pad, sleeping bag, tarp)<\/li>\n
  • Flashlight\/headlamp<\/li>\n
  • Weather-appropriate gear (don’t get caught out in the rain and\/or cold – BE PREPARED)<\/li>\n
  • Small Day Pack with:<\/li>\n

      • A letter, addressed to the Lodge Vice Chief of Communications, in which you explain what you think the Obligation means, describe how you have been fulfilling the Obligation in your Unit and daily life, and specific plans for giving future service in the Lodge program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Also, work on memorizing the Obligation, Song of the Order, the Admonition, the OA handclasp, and the sign of Ordeal membership. (All of this can be found in your handbook.)<\/p>\n

        Ordeal is for candidates; Induction is for everyone!<\/p>\n

        For members, Induction is a weekend of fellowship and service for you to enjoy. We hope it allows you to make new friendships, cement old ones, and reflect on your commitment to a life of servant leadership.<\/p>\n

        You must be current on your annual dues ($25) to register for Induction weekend. (See the link at the top left of the page!)
        Meals Saturday and Sunday will be provided, but feel free to bring any snacks you like.
        Bring whatever equipment you wish to keep yourself comfortable, warm and dry.<\/p>\n

        Bring cards, games, Magic Cards, musical instruments, yard games, etc., for the Friday and Saturday night fellowships,
        and think about songs or skits for the Saturday night campfire.
        If you collect patches, bring them for show or trading.<\/p>\n

        We will be camping in Elk and Confluence (staff only will be in the corral). <\/p>\n
