Lodge officers make up the Lodge Executive Committee. This committee meets monthly to plan all of the Lodge programs – Induction weekends, the annual Banquet, the annual NFS service weekend, Section Conclave trips, NOAC trips, and high-adventure trips.<\/p>\n\n

The offices for Walamootkin Lodge consist of:<\/p>\n\n

  1. Lodge Chief – Much like an SPL, the Lodge Chief is responsible for ensuring all Lodge activities are carried out and that other officers and committee chairs are doing their jobs. Sounds like a big job, but if the people around you are performing well, then it’s not so tough.<\/li>\n\n
  2. Vice Chief (VC) of Administration – Sort of a VP to the Chief. Also responsible for overseeing training and recruiting OA Representatives for all the Troops.<\/li>\n\n
  3. VC of Program – Oversees all the fun events. Gets committees set up to plan and carry out the events.<\/li>\n\n
  4. VC of Communications – Responsible for taking minutes at LEC meetings (so we remember what we decided) and putting together our newsletter, the Papah.<\/li>\n\n
  5. VC of Ceremonies – In charge of recruiting Ceremony teams for Inductions, cross-overs, call-outs, etc. Also runs practices and teaches new members how to ceremony.<\/li>\n\n
  6. VC of Finance – A very important job – taking in dues, running the Trading Post, and handling the fundraising auctions. Also generates a monthly report on the status of Lodge finances.<\/li>\n\n
  7. Chapter Chiefs – Each District in our Council has its own Chapter. We strongly encourage Chapters to have monthly meetings or at least quarterly fellowships. The Chapter Chiefs are elected by their Chapter (other positions are elected by the whole Lodge) to oversee those events. Chapter Chiefs are expected to attend the LEC meeting.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n

    If any of these look interesting to you, we will be having Lodge elections at the Winter Banquet. You need to be there to be elected. Plan to give a short speech describing why you want the job and what skills or experience you have that make you a good candidate. We will have additional information about the positions at the Banquet. You can also talk to one of our current officers about their experience.
