75 years the Order of the Arrow\u2019s Walamootkin Lodge has recognized Scouts and Scouters who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives. This must include:<ul><li>one, but no more than one, long-term camp with at least five consecutive camping nights.<br \/>(Only five nights of the long-term camp may be credited toward the 15-nights of camping)<\/li><li>10 (or more) nights of overnight, weekend, or other short-term camps (3 nights or less)<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Youth (under 21) must hold one of the following ranks:<ul><li>Scouts &#8211; BSA First Class rank<\/li><li>Venturing &#8211; Discovery rank<\/li><li>Sea Scout &#8211; Ordinary rank or higher<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Approval by the Scoutmaster, Crew Advisor or Sea Scout Skipper<\/li><li>Be elected by the youth members of their unit.<\/li><li>Adults (age 21 or older) who meet the camping requirements may be nominated by the Unit Committee Chair, and\u00a0 approved by the Lodge Adult Selection Committee.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-e9300f3 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"e9300f3\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-4d5e1b9\" data-id=\"4d5e1b9\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-56c45a1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"56c45a1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Membership Levels<\/h5><p>While there are three levels of membership (called \u201chonors\u201d) in the Order of the Arrow, all members &#8211; regardless of honor &#8211; are considered equal.<\/p><p><b>Induction<\/b><\/p><p>The induction process, called the Ordeal, is the first step toward full membership in the Order. During the experience, candidates are challenged to demonstrate their Scout spirit and commitment to service. The experience is designed to help Scouts realize the fundamental meaning of the Scout Oath and Law. All candidates for membership must complete the Ordeal.<\/p><p><b>Brotherhood Membership<\/b><\/p><p>After 6 months of service as an Ordeal member and fulfilling certain requirements, a member may take the path to Brotherhood, which places further emphasis on the ideals of Scouting and the Order. Completion of this ceremony signifies full membership in the Order.<\/p><p><b>Vigil Honor<\/b><\/p><p>The Vigil Honor is not pursued and earned. This honor is bestowed by special selection recognizing those who have made distinguished contributions to the Lodge, the Order of the Arrow, Scouting, or their Scout camp. Two years of exceptional service as a Brotherhood member are required, and approval of the national Order of the Arrow committee is necessary.
